We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Operations Manager (AV) to help lead our Technical Production Team, ensuring that they continue to exceed in delivering their clients technical requirements in a variety of onsite and online conferences, dinners, and awards ceremonies.

THE ROLE
Join this great team as a seasoned events professional and accomplished leader, taking charge of our Technical Production team's successful execution of a diverse array of onsite and online events, including conferences, exhibitions, and dinners.
In your role as the technical authority, you'll supervise the efforts of our Technical Planners to guarantee a uniform and top-notch technical delivery across all client events. With your extensive background in AV production and demonstrated leadership abilities, you'll provide essential expertise and leadership, ensuring our team consistently excels in delivering outstanding results.
Additionally, to the client facing element of the role, you will be expected to maintain technical production procedures and manage the ongoing maintenance and repair process to meet legislative requirements.
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have a strong AV production background and be competent and literate across the broad range of modern AV systems as well as having previous experience in leading a busy and productive Technical Team. You will be the technical expert overseeing the work of the Technical Planners to ensure consistent technical delivery and will be a strong proactive team player. This is a very hands on role and you will be required to step in and resolve any challenges that may arise - the availability to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the business and our clients is a must.

- Managing a team of technical event professionals to ensure a consistent approach to the delivery of technical services
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of technical aspects of all events. Providing guidance, hands-on support and technical expertise for the Technical Planners
- Proactively handling any arising issues on the event day, coordinating with the Technical Planner to communicate with clients and production teams to ensure a successful event
- Ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are kept up-to-date, relevant and are being followed
- Sign off incoming production company risk assessments and method statements
- In conjunction with the Head of Technical and the Health, Safety and Security Manager ensure the venue is compliant with all current legislation with regards to technical operations
- In conjunction with the Head of Technical & ICT conducting annual appraisals and reviews with direct reports in accordance with company procedures, holding staff accountable for successful performance of objectives
- Review financial statements & reports to determine variances against budget
- Manage the ongoing maintenance and repair process to meet legislative requirements including, but not limited to, PAT testing, LOLER & PUWER
